Wisconsin State 600 Bowling Club

Text Box: history

The organizational meeting of the Wisconsin State 600 Bowling Club was held March 4, 1974, at the Sheraton Inn of Madison.  Elected as president was Betty Smith; vice president was Kay Sandberg; secretary-treasurer was Carrie Seeger; and sergeant-at-arms was Helen Lucchesi.  Three directors were also elected to the board:  Glenora Thompson, Val Geller, and Donna Rusch.  Florence Boehringer was selected as an honorary member of the club.  See our Charter Member List.

The first State 600 Singles Event was held in conjunction with the state tournament, which was held in Milwaukee in 1958.  In the fall of 1976, the first State 600 Bowling Club Tournament was held outside of the WWBA framework.  The Doubles Event was added in 1977, and All-Events were added in 2000.  An optional Scratch Singles Event was added in 2009.  See a list of all Past Tournaments.
