Wisconsin State 600 Bowling ClubANNUAL MEETING MINUTES – May 18th, 2024
The 50th annual meeting of the WI State 600 Bowling Club was called to order by President Polly Burright at 8:07 am Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Convention Center in Onalaska WI. Invocation given by Director Shannah Ellenbecker. Pledge of Allegiance led by Sergeant-at-Arms, Virgi Luchterhand Roll Call of Board - 3 officers and 4 directors present.OFFICERS – Polly Burright, President; Jennie Volkman, Secretary-Treasurer; and Virginia Luchterhand, Sgt-at-Arms. DIRECTORS – #1 Tonja Zenk, #3 Shannah Ellenbecker, #4 Tami Westphal and #5 Melissa Lang. LIFE MEMBERS: Virginia Stewart EXCUSED – Vice-President- Nikki Lohr Correspondence – Resignation notice from Vice President, Nikki Lohr. Minutes of the 49th annual meeting were not read. They were approved by the Board at their August meeting and placed on file. Club Treasury Report: Newly installed Treasurer Jennie Volkman was only able to give the balances of accounts at the present time due to issues with access to records on computer. All of the accounts will be moving from Park City Credit Union in Merrill to CoVantage Credit Union in Antigo for easier access to banking. Future plans will be to add Venmo as a form of payment for tournament entries. Audit Committee report presented by Tami Westphal. A Memorial Service honoring deceased State 600 members with a special presentation for Arlys Bourdage by Shannah and Tonja. OLD BUSINESS – None presented. NEW BUSINESS Polly Burright presented her President’s Message, recounting the challenges and frustrations of the past year and is looking forward to a better year with little to no issues. Secretary’s Message: Jennie Volkman welcomed everyone who was in attendance. She will be finishing out the term for Sue Soderberg as of April 2024. Tournament entries for the 2024 event in Antigo this year were sent out by email and mailings with numerous of these being returned for various issues. Moving forward due to the cost of postage and number of returns, we will be going to emailing, using the website and facebook as our means of obtaining entries. Plans for 2025 registrations are to have fillable entries online. Entries will still be able to be sent by regular mail as well. Other forms are also being updated as well. Along with all these updates, she is working with Melissa Lang to get the computer updated with tournament programs and files. Jennie thanked everyone for their patience in the upcoming months and stated how excited she was to represent the Wisconsin State 600 Club. Credentials Report presented by Sergeant-at-Arms, Virginia Luchterhand: 3 Officers, 4 Directors, 41 voting members 3 guests. Tellers were appointed The Nominating Committee report with proposed slate of candidates was presented by Chair, Mason Heldt, Merrill. The positions of Vice President, Director #3, Director #4 Vice President (NL), Director #3 (SE), Director #4 (TW) Introduction of candidates by Polly for Vice President-Melissa Lang, Director #3 Shannah Ellenbecker, Director #4 Tami Westphal. Election of Officers and Directors Nominations for the office of Vice President were Melissa Lang who was voted in by acclamation with a three-year term through 5/2027. President Polly Burright asked for nominations for Director # 3. Shannah Ellenbecker was presented and was re-elected by acclamation for a three-year term through 5/2027. Nominations for Director #4 were requested. Tami Westphal and Mason Heldt were presented with Tami Westphal renewing her position with a three-year term through 5/2027. With Melissa Lang filling the Vice President position, director #5 position was open. President Polly Burright installed Mason Heldt to finish the term though 5/2025. 2025 Tournament Site – There were no bids to host the 2025 tournament. President Polly Burright asked Shawano-Clintonville Association if they would be willing to host the 2025 tournament, considering they had bid for the 2024 tournament. Tami Westphal accepted.
2023 Tournament Report – Mason Heldt gave a recap of the Merrill tournament. She thanked everyone for their participation. The Tournament Traveling Trophy was passed from Mason, to Jennie Volkman of Antigo. Jennie gave a welcome address to the 2024 tournament to be held in Antigo at North Star Lanes. The winners of the 2023 Tournament and Special Awards were presented. There was an oversight on notifying the winners so Jennie Volkman will be making sure that the winners will receive the awards to the ones who were not present to accept. ‘Share the Wealth’ Cash Raffle winners were drawn with cash prizes awarded. Winners of the Free 2024 Tournament Entries sponsored by the WI State 600 Bowling Club were announced. With no further business, the 50th annual meeting adjourned on motion at 8:54 am.
